  • Why does the product appear slightly different on the website than the original piece?
We try to capture the design in its utmost essence, with true to reality colors, though sometimes the result is subject to lighting and may appear different on each screen depending on the screen resolution. Each product is unique as it is handcrafted which implies that no two pieces can be exact replicas, with a 5-10% margin on changes in weights and dimensions and therefore the overall look. We strive towards putting all our efforts to match it to the specifications provided on the website and do not compromise on quality at any point.
  • Why do I see a different price for a product than I saw earlier?

  • What are the 4C’s of diamonds?
Diamonds are the most precious and famed gemstone in the world of jewelry, The Four C's of Diamonds, Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat, are the basics that are used to select and grade all diamonds. Cut : A diamond right out of the ground isn't much to look at, but grind away a piece here and polish a facet there and you'll end up with a sparkling stone. Properly cut diamonds have certain angles and proportions that let light in from the top, reflect it against the bottom, and then disperse it through the top again. Too shallow and light leaks out of the bottom; too tall and light veers off through the sides. The different cuts we use are brilliant-cut, rose-cut, single-cut, baguette, pear, cushion, marquise and sliced diamonds. Color : Though we call them "white diamonds", what we really mean is "colorless". Because they're formed naturally, diamonds can contain trace amounts of other materials, giving them various tints. Historically, the brighter and more colorless a diamond, the more highly they're valued, but we think that other colors like yellow and champagne can add a warmth and romance to a design with their amber tint. There's a whole spectrum for you to discover here. On the scale that goes from D - Z (colorless to yellow) we use diamonds ranging between F - I. We also use champagne and yellow colored diamonds. Clarity : Clarity is a measure of how many inclusions inside and blemishes on a diamond's surface can be seen, ranging from the spectacular sparkle of a flawless white to the moody glimmer of a highly included gray. The clarity has a fundamental effect on how a diamond catches the light and the grade ranges from Flawless to I3, with Flawless being the best and VVS-VS standing for Very Very Slight Inclusions and Very Slight Inclusions respectively. Our collection uses VVS and VS clarity diamonds. Carat : Being the unit of weight measurement for diamonds, the ‘ct’ is what denotes the weight of diamonds used in a design.

  • How do I care for my Jewelry?
Handle each piece with care as many settings are delicate and are prone to breakage if dropped or dealt with recklessly. Avoid wearing fine jewelry during physical exercise, cooking or any activity that could cause scratches or breakage. Human natural skin oils affect diamonds and other precious stones and hence these can lead to a loss of luster. If you do not wear your jewelry regularly, it can still get dusty. To clean the diamonds or dusty metal jewelry, Use warm water, a soft toothbrush and mild soap. Do not use harsh/strong agents to clean your jewelry. Soak your jewelry in lukewarm soapy water and clean it gently with a soft bristled toothbrush. Commercially available jewelry boxes are not recommended for storage. They may have chemical adhesives that may cause discoloring and blackening. Please store your jewelry in butter paper or muslin cloth or in the provided Subeez boxes. Store your diamond/ fine or heritage jewelry in separate boxes or wrapped in a muslin cloth to avoid friction between two pieces. Pearls and jadau are delicate. The protective luster on the outside of jewelry is soft, and though the layer is thick, it can still wear or chip away over time if you don’t treat the pieces with extreme care. Keep your delicate jewelry pieces in a box with a soft lining and away from metal and diamond jewelry that can rub against them. When dressing, jewelry should always be put on last, as make up, cosmetics and perfumes can cause damage to delicate items. Heat and light can impact a precious stone’s color and durability. Direct sunlight can fade a lot of stones, Please don't store your jewelry in direct sunlight. Gold jewelry could also be blackened due to any of the reasons mentioned in the points above and it is definitely not because inferior quality of gold is used. It is advised to regularly check the prongs holding diamonds and other stones, especially in the case of rings, and ensure that all of them are of equal height. If any of them is shorter than the others, the stone might get loose and fall out. Do not expose gemstones to high temperatures as it might change the color of the gemstone or reduce the luster. Be careful not to get makeup, hairspray or harsh soaps or chemicals on your jewelry.
  • How do I find my ring or bangle/bracelet size?
We have laid out a simple and well illustrated size guide which should help you ascertain your ring size or bracelet size. We would recommend you reach out to us at jewels@subeez.org if you need any assistance in finding your size, before placing an order.
  • Are men and women sizes different? Are they measured differently?
Both men and women sizes are measured similarly. Please refer to our size guide. The average ring size for women in US is 6 to 6.5, and the average size for men in US is 9 to 10 .
  • Do you have any tips before I check my size?
Ring sizing tips: 1. Our dominant hands are generally slightly larger — make sure you measure the right finger on the correct hand! 2. Rings with wider bands will fit a bit tighter. 3. Make sure the finger is at normal body temperature — fingers can shrink or expand when hot or cold. 4. Your fingers tend to change size throughout the day — the best time to measure your finger is the end of the day. 5. If your knuckle is bigger, take 2 measurements and choose a size in between — the ring needs to fit over the knuckle but not be too loose or it will shift around. 6. When you don’t know your partner’s ring size, selecting one of the standard ring sizes is your best choice. The average ring size for women is US 6 to 6.5, and the average ring size for men is US 9 to 10.
  • What sizing metrics does Subeez use?
