Our Story
Subeez was founded over two decades ago, as an expression of love between two sisters Subhadra and Prabha. What started as a love filled ‘sharing a piece of home’ gesture of an elder sister in India sending a small festive jewelry gift courier to a homesick younger one in California has evolved into ‘Subeez’.
Officially launched in 2007 with an intention to promote Indian heritage, culture and craftsmanship, Subeez has grown to have a strong Indian and international presence. Since inception, our commitment to exceptional quality, meticulous detailing, design sensibility, and our predilection for style has distinguished us.
The rigorous quality standards and mindfulness in each step of the jewelry crafting process, makes our pieces a precious and unique creation. Each piece of jewelry goes through a long handcrafting process of skilled karigari. Set in gold, diamonds, uncut diamond polki and fine gemstones, whether traditional or contemporary, all our jewelry pieces have a design element of India.
Our extensive knowledge of Indian jewelry, its history, and an understanding of how exquisite jewelry is crafted has been acquired over the years through travel, cultural exploration, observation, interactions, design courses, and a very strong desire to appreciate Indian craftsmanship.
Authenticity is an integral value at Subeez, and we commit ourselves to it. In an endeavor to provide and source the best, we’ve accredited ourselves with the prestigious GIA certification and a BIS Hallmark authorization. We use certified diamonds, and all our products are hallmarked for gold purity as 22k, 18k or 14k by an independent government-authorized assay agency.
